Cocoa Latte- Omomo Tea Shoppe

Happy birthday Dad! Even though he didn’t get a boba drink today, my family chipped in to collectively buy him a bottle of wine, his preferred beverage of choice. He also wanted to go back to his new favorite bakery, which recently opened next door to Omomo, so that’s why we’re here in. Saturday afternoon braving the Omomo line. It was a little long, but time passed a little quickly. I haven’t been to this location in a super long time, and I definitely didn’t miss the line…but since I was here, might as well get a drink. 🙂

So it’s a little later in the afternoon, so it’s a good chance to try a non-tea option on the menu. Specifically, I’ve been eyeing the Cocoa Latte for a while too. From the description, it’s kind of a glorified chocolate milk, but I like chocolate milk so I’d like to try it and see how it is as a drink. It’s also within the Creamomo section of the menu, and the online picture pairs it with the tiramisu foam. For now, i just got it plain to get to know how it tasted without a topping.

It really is kind of a glorified chocolate milk…but it tastes more like some fancy kind of not-hot hot chocolate. Chocolate milk is usually sweeter, and more milky and milk-chocolatey flavor, but this drink has that high-class (perfect for Omomo I guess haha), not too sweet hot chocolate feel. It’s true to the description of cocoa powder and milk, as you get that slight bitter but authentic chocolate-y taste paired with the slight creaminess of their milk. Boba is also nice, bouncy and chewy, and got that Omomo boba taste.
