Black Tea Latte – Wushiland Boba

We’re getting Wushiland again after a few weeks (I think). My mom doesn’t like doing the picking-up, but if my dad goes, she’s always down to get a drink, so shout-out to my dad for doing the driving. This was picked up yesterday, as with the past few times, to save to drink for earlier today and as some energy as Thursdays are again busy this quarter. I also decided to take an 8am, which thankfully at Zoom University, doesn’t require that much prep, but waking up at 7:30 and 8 really makes a difference.

I tried all the basic milk teas I wanted to try (I’m not about that ice cream milk tea life, and I’m not sure what makes Ovaltine special). So now I’m into the “Fresh Milk” section of the menu, a.k.a. the Latte section. Basically all the same teas and combinations as the Milk Tea section, but made with fresh milk I guess. We’ll see if they taste any different, but I don’t entirely expect them to unless I had a side by side comparison I guess.

Actually, my first sip of the drink surprised me a little. While I remember the basic milk tea being creamy and rich along with the flavor of the tea, the Latte in comparison is lighter, not as sweet (even though I got 50% sugar both times), the tea’s slightly bitter taste stands out, not as creamy, and now that I think about it, does actually taste like real milk is in there. I really didn’t think there’d be much of a difference, but I could really taste it on the first sip. Honestly, I feel like this would make a better “milk tea” because it actually just tastes like tea mixed with milk, ha! Definitely different, but I think it’s a nice change and great to be able to taste the real ingredients. It’s also nice that there’s actually a taste difference in the milk tea and latte section in the menu. Boba’s very chewy, and sweet from begin coated in the syrup.

Oh, and Happy April Fool’s Day, I guess.
