There’s another online order delivery pickup happening nearby my dad found, this time from a place called A+ Tea House. I think their main store is in San Gabriel or somewhere near there, and they’re basically kind of like a Taiwanese casual eats shop. We actually got the delivery yesterday but because it was around 5 when we got it, I got out of work at 6, and the boba came separate from the drink (huzzah delivery people), I saved mine for today so I could drink it earlier in the day and as energy for more Monday work. Along with our delivery we got a few fried snacks, which would be pretty good fresh since the flavor was great, but fried snacks don’t really work quite well delivered, which my premonitions were quite correct…Plus, tomorrow I’m getting my wisdom teeth taken out, and the doctor said part of the recovery process was you can’t use straws, aka no boba drinking for a week for me I guess.
There were an interesting variety of choices, but because of slight choice overload, I went with the standard milk tea, or their house special, because haven’t gotten anything from this place before. That’s it, kind of like always from recent delivery places. What was also interesting was that they were offering milk slushes, which probably don’t do too well for deliveries either…
Anyway, the drink itself is an ok milk tea. It does get the job done. Though for a signature milk tea, I really would have liked more flavor. It almost tastes watered down with a slight tea taste to it? I hope it’s not because I left it overnight in the fridge, but I’ve done that before and other drinks have been fine. I actually really liked my mom’s Assam Milk Tea that she had yesterday that I had a sip of. That had a ton of flavor, and was more of a deep black milk tea than this one is. Oh well, now we know.
Their only boba option is pink boba, which I found interesting. My favorite color is pink, but makes you wonder, why pink? To stand out? Is it only pink because of food coloring? The actual color, which I got to see because the boba came separate, is definitely pink. The boba itself is a larger ball, and because I freshly microwaved it, it’s super soft and chewy. Not much taste though, other than tapioca flavor?
Details: House Special Milk Tea; 1/2 sugar; requested no ice; requested whole milk; with pink boba
