One Zo Fruit Tea – One Zo

Here’s to another Trader Joe’s trip with the father figure! Apparently, Trader Joe’s and recently come out with a new boba item – coffee boba ice cream. That sounds cool and all, but why coffee? Why not milk tea? It’s so popular that they’re limiting 1 per family, and they were sold out when I was there in the morning. I’m not a coffee person, so I don’t think I’ll buy it to try for myself…

Anyway, I’ve been having quite a few milk teas or milk drinks recently, so today I decided to have a change of pace and go for a fruit tea. More specifically, their special blend of fruit tea. I thought there’d be caffeine in it, but upon tasting it and reading an online description, I think it’s only fruit and fruit juice…which may have been a better choice for an afternoon. Oh well. Maybe it’s my bad because the name doesn’t contain a type of tea in it, unlike a Strawberry Green Tea for example. Not a bad thing, but since I’d like to take advantage of getting a drink in the morning…Whatever the case, for some reason One Zo’s fruit drinks only come in large, which is nice I guess.

The drink itself, is very fruity (duh!). I see some slices of watermelon, lime, orange, and I saw them scooping some passion fruit int. The first sip was a nice combination of fruit flavors, especially passion fruit and orange. Overall, a nice balance of flavors for a not so sweet, and refreshing drink. Could a hint of green tea help? Maybe for a boost of caffeine, but as a fruit drink it’s quite nice.

The strawberry boba is interesting! Chewier than honey boba, with a subtle strawberry flavor. It’s actually kind of like a gummy, and it reminds me of and tastes like strawberry candy in a not too artificial sort of way. I’d be open to getting strawberry boba in future drinks. Perhaps getting it in. a fruity drink made the flavor blend in too much, and I’d imagine it in a milky drink would be a nice contrast of flavors.
