Thai Iced Milk Tea – Omomo Tea Shoppe

We’re back at our weekend morning Trader Joe’s run, this time at the one next to Omomo. This week, my mom specifically requested we get Omomo since she felt like she hadn’t had it in a while. To be precise, the last time we got it was January 31, so it may have been a bit of an exaggeration…Regardless, we went shopping around 11:30 to hopefully beat the line when Omomo opens at 12, but I guess a ton of other people had the same idea because the line was as long as ever at 12! It might have been the furthest back I’ve started in line actually…Today is a pretty warm day, so naturally perfect for a drink.

Today I opted for Omomo’s Thai tea. Not the Camo Thai, but the regular one. I’ve had it before a long time ago, but haven’t written a post about it, and I also felt I haven’t had a Thai tea in a while. It’s also one of the few milk tea drinks left for me to post about (that I would drink).

As a side note, Omomo’s gone through a slight update. The back menu used to be white/beige, but now it’s their signature dark green. They also updated some of their menu items, including replacing the red bean taro milk drink with their current Taro paste milk drink. The used to be seasonal osmanthus oolong is also now a permanent resident on the menu apparently, which is think it’s great if I ever feel like getting it because not many places offer it. Also, the text on the lid today was orange, which I found interesting.

The drink is nicely refreshing and is a great classic Thai tea. The tea flavor is strong and pairs so well with the creaminess of the milk, making it a candidate for another good thai tea go-to. I remember getting it a while ago, and thinking it was just an ok Thai tea, but maybe they stepped it up since then. Boba is as good as usual, chewy and a little bit sweet, complementing the drink today actually perfectly.
