No Russian this week because my friend has finals…but today’s my last day of classes of the quarter! Which is great because that means online school is wrapping up, but also next is finals week, which is a little yikes. Luckily, despite taking 6 classes this quarter, my finals week doesn’t look that bad. We shall see if it actually is though.
My dad went into his office today, and since he was out, my mom and I figured, why not get a drink right? Plus, I was kind of craving some sweets earlier, and just as I was snacking on some granola, the drink idea came up, ha! My dad likes T To Tea’s seasonal black sesame drink, so it’s a treat for him too! I’m a huge fan of watching “What I eat in a day/week” videos on YouTube (for healthy food inspiration), and I also discovered Linda Sun yesterday. I am loving the food positivity she’s been saying in the ones that I’ve watched so far. So it’s okay to listen to your body and eat what you want in moderation, right? 🙂
I feel like I haven’t had a good green milk tea in a while, so that’s what I wanted today. A little oddly enough, T to Tea doesn’t offer a green milk tea that I’m used to among their unique looking tea selection. More specifically, there are two green oolong teas (Jade Green and Tie Guan Yin)?? They do have a green milk tea that is a Sencha latte, and I’ve heard of sencha before just never tried it, so perhaps that one at a later time…Anyway, the one that I got, the Tie Guan Yin Latte, is supposedly a “premium green oolong” as listed in the description, so if I was getting a green oolong, might as well get the premium one, was the mindset. If I ever try the other one though, I’d hope they taste similar but still different enough. After trying their signature black milk tea last time, I’m putting some faith into their milk teas.
The drink is so refreshing, and you can taste the high quality of the of the tea! My first impression is that it tastes very tea-y, which doesn’t sound very helpful… This also probably doesn’t make sense, but the flavor is deep for a green tea, yet still light because it is a green tea. I think the “depth” comes from that roasty Oolong flavor because it’s a green oolong, ha! Overall, still pleasantly surprised with T to Tea’s tea quality!
Boba is pretty good, similar to last time. Good amount of sweetness, but a little stiffer than I like my boba. No hard, just a harder chew…Why do I feel like I got less than last time though?
