Russian is at home today out of caution of corona getting slightly worse recently, but my friend and I decided that we should still enjoy our boba together, but distantly.
I asked my mom what drink she wanted, and she requested Omomo. Maybe it’s because it’s the day before Thanksgiving and everyone’s off, but the line was super long today. Maybe I was also getting carried away by Omomo not having a line the past few times I’ve went because it usually does.
I decided to go with the Black Jade Milk Tea today since I wanted a classic milk tea. Omomo offers two commonly seen black teas, the Black Jade and the Ceylon, whereas most places usually have one or the other. My friend’s go-to order at Omomo is actually the Black Jade, and she said it tastes like the Pu-Er from Cherubic Tea, just not as expensive as Cherubic’s. I’ve never had either so I wouldn’t know…
Anyway, the Black Jade Milk Tea tastes like what I wanted: a classic milk tea! It’s rich, with a deep black tea flavor, and just creamy enough as a milk tea. I was pleasantly surprised by the taste, and wondered why I never got it before. No wonder it’s got a recommended sign on the menu.
Boba today is ok. Texture is nice, soft and chewy, but the flavor is a little lacking.
