Thai Milk Tea – Sunright Tea Studio

Russians are back on normal Wednesday schedule, and we went back to Sunright today! Apparently my friend’s mom really liked their Jasmine Milk Tea (I can see why!), so here we are. Today we reviewed body and color vocabulary, along with searching up some newer related terms.

I had a mini debate with myself over whether what to get today, but I ended up deciding to get Sunright’s Thai Tea for a few reasons: I was low key craving a Thai Tea (it’s been a while in my head, though probably not nearly as long as the last, ha), I knew that it would be good since I had a sip of my mom’s the last time, and I figured I had a milk tea last time, so I would save a milk tea option for the next time I get a drink from Sunright. You might be asking yourself, “Wait, isn’t Thai MILK Tea a milk tea?”, to which I reply, “Yes, it’s in the milk tea section of the menu, but it’s kind of in it’s own realm of milk teas / drinks.” So there you go.

Sunright’s Thai Milk Tea is a pretty good standard Thai Tea, and I’m glad they added it to their menu (it’s a newer item)! I will say, I expected the actual drink to be slightly less sweet, not because I ordered less sugar, since I usually get 50%, but because the time my mom ordered the Thai Tea (with the same sweetness level) and let me try it, it tasted like a Thai Tea, but just not sweet, which we found wild (in a good way). My hypothesis is that last time, the online menu order didn’t let me pick a milk, but this time when I ordered there they did, so either they changed the recipe, or they actually didn’t add any milk last time and the milk is the one that gives it a base sweetness. Whatever it is, I enjoyed my drink today anyway since it’s a Thai Tea!

I also ordered honey boba with my Thai Tea today because I thought that maybe the honey boba flavor would fit the Thai Tea better. Does it actually matter? Probably not. Does this mean I can order every drink on the menu with either of the two boba and make it a different entry? Perhaps. Regardless, I couldn’t really taste the flavor of the honey boba that I discovered and loved the time I ordered it before. I wonder if it’s because the Thai Tea is pretty flavorful by itself, so the boba flavor is not as obvious. I’m a little sad because then this time and last time I didn’t get to taste the boba flavor from Sunright! The texture today is alright, decently chewy, but my experience from Sunright says it could be better…
