Four Seasons Latte – Sunright Tea Studio

Today’s another Russian Friday, this time at Sunright for some variety! We went over some more Russian idioms, as well as looked up the Russian words for body parts. As an added bonus, we also learned the Russian equivalent of “Mr.”/”Mrs.”.

Now that I’ve tried most of the major milk teas on Sunright’s menu, it’s about time to explore other items. Now, that could mean trying out their fruit teas, but in all honesty I’ve gotten attached to their milk teas…not that I don’t like fruit teas, but their milk teas have really raised the standard! Perhaps someday, because I have heard that their fruit teas are good as well. In the meantime, I decided to try out a new milk tea, the Four Seasons Latte, which weirdly enough is the only item on the menu with “latte” in the name despite being in the milk category. I think it’s because it’s the only milk tea that defaults to using fresh milk, instead of the house milk, which I learned is an original non-dairy milk by reading more descriptions (which in itself is quite ironic). I wonder why the Four Seasons is not “recommended” with the house milk if they’re so proud of their house milk. I don’t think I would be able to tell the milk difference just by a milk tea though, since I’ve had their house milk in previous drinks and have loved them!

I’ve also been curious about this Four Seasons tea for a while, because I’ve never heard of it prior to looking at boba shop menus more closely. Now, it seems to be a pretty regular offering at quite a few places, so it must be good right? Apparently (according to a simple Google search), it’s a type of Oolong. Sunright’s monitor menu also had a symbol next to it, so I also assumed it was a recommended drink.

As a milk tea, or latte in this case, the taste I get from the tea is an almost earthy/floral-y taste. Even mixed with the milk, since I got 50% sugar, I could still taste the tea, which although light, was still distinct. I guess I’ve also described a regular Oolong as floral, but the Four Seasons is lighter, maybe leafier(?), ha! I’m by no means a tea or taste bud expert, but if I had to put it on a taste spectrum, it would be between a Jasmine (light, aromatic floral), and an Oolong (somewhat light, nutty-ish floral). I don’t know if it’s because I got less sweetness in my drink, but it does taste like what you think tea smells like with milk. If I were in the mood for it I’d get it again!

Sunright’s boba, both brown sugar and honey, is my favorite boba I’ve had recently because of the perfect texture and the taste (I tried not to rave about it too much to my friend today). Today’s boba is nicely chewy as usual and great texture, but surprisingly not a lot of flavor, even for brown sugar boba. I don’t want to say it was a let down, but at least the texture is on point. I usually look for texture first, and the taste is an added bonus since most places don’t get too much flavor into their boba. Perhaps next time, Sunright, when I will attempt to use my points!

P.S., I tried to get a physical receipt (because recently I’ve been trying out this app that lets you scan receipts for points), but I got nothing. Welp.
