What? Boba two days in a row? I’m not quite sure if this is a bad thing or good thing, but I’m always up for boba on a hot day. Or any day for the matter. Plus, boba right after a workout always sounds good, and I finished my second workout program for the summer today! I also racked up enough points on my phone for a free drink, so my drink was free. That feels great too.
Anyways, after yesterday’s somewhat boba fiasco, I guess my mom wanted a drink redemption for both herself and my sister. I mean, I liked my drink, but boba was pretty disappointing, and was not a pleasant chewing experience. My mom wasn’t satisfied, and my sister didn’t get much of a drink since she didn’t enjoy her taro smoothie, which is still in. the fridge (and I’m kind of tempted to finish it sometime…). Yesterday was my dad’s favorite place, so I guess today’s my mom’s favorite(?)/go-to place: 7 Leaves.
7 Leaves got it’s Assam Milk Tea back! That isn’t necessarily the reason I ended up getting it. My thought process was that it’s somewhat later in the afternoon, closer to when we would eat dinner, so I didn’t want to get too full because 7 Leaves’s milk teas are very filling. My first thought was to try out my sister’s go-to bloody drink, the Strawberry Hibiscus, because that’s the last non-milk drink on my list. Even though I had a milk tea yesterday though, I’m kind of craving a milk tea today, so I decided to go for the Assam because it’s a classic, and according to the description it has less calories than the Thai Tea, ha! I’m also not feeling adventurous enough to get the Taro Milk Tea either.
I’ve never actually ordered it for myself, but had a sip of my mom’s once. Initially, I was looking for the black tea or classic milk tea on 7 Leaves’s menu, and then I figured out Assam is a type of black tea. After that, I learned that Assam on the menu meant a good trusty black tea!
Now the part you’re all waiting for: the review! 7 Leaves’s Assam Milk Tea is the perfect black milk tea, or what you want your black milk tea to taste like. Nothing much else to say, but that’s it’s a great drink when you want to go back to basics. Great black tea flavor, with not so much depth that it gets too complex, but also just the right amount of flavor to enjoy the tea. Boba, in contrast to yesterday, is great. A little chewy, a little sweet, and a good amount! Great tea and good boba, is a great drink.
