Earl Grey Creme – Redstraw Tea Bar

Today we’re back at Redstraw studying Russian, with one less friend. It was still fun though, and today was more casual, building simple sentences and going over conversation vocabulary.

I’m also still on my quest to try items from the Custom Teas that pique my interest. I was debating between trying the Earl Grey Creme and the Osmanthus Oolong, but I ultimately decided to get the Earl Grey Creme for two reasons. First, because I want to try Omomo’s Osmanthus Oolong hopefully before it goes out of season and Redstraw’s will still be there. Second, because my Russian study buddy has wanted to try it but isn’t sure if she’ll like it. I therefore decided to be her pseudo-guinea pig and go for the Earl Grey Creme because I was thinking of trying it anyway.

An iced tea is always refreshing on such a hot day, so I appreciated the iced tea nonetheless. The tea itself is very interesting. I wouldn’t say I’m not a fan, but there is a flavor in it that sticks out to me and I’m not quite sure if I like it. It could be either the “fragrant bergamot oil” or the French vanilla. Apparently bergamot is a type of citrus? It’s not a bad drink, but I don’t think I would get it again. I wonder if it would be better with milk. Definitely not my cup of tea, pun intended! Boba is okay today, a little chewy, and the right amount of sweetness for this drink.

Details: Earl Grey Creme (Oriental black tea hand blended with fragrant bergamot oil and French vanilla); 50% Sugar; Iced; No ice; with honey boba; from Redstraw Tea Bar (Irvine)
