Rising Phoenix Milk Tea – Orobae

I finally get to have Orobae again and try the Rising Phoenix, and then I go and self-induce a traumatic moment for myself. More on that later. At least I can finally update my Orobae post.

We’re back for another Russian study session! Today I presented telling time in Russian to my friends, and let me tell you, learning to tell time in Russian is almost as traumatic as what was about to occur later. Why must you be so painful Russian? I thought telling time was going to be simple, and then I need to corroborate 3 or 4 different websites for this one socially normal thing!

Recently, my friends order their drinks first since they prefer to drink right there while we study, while I order mine when we’re done because My family also likes to sanitize or wipe everything down before we eat or drink any takeout, so I have to wait until that gets done before I get to drink it. That’s fine with me, since there isn’t such thing as too much precaution.

I ordered a drink for myself, my mom, and my sister. I was pleasantly surprised that the cashier spelled my name right! My name is the type that there’s lots of ways to spell it, but mine itself is probably the longest spelling. I am very happy when people spell my name right.

My order came in a normal cup holder with 4 holes. Obviously, the holder was imbalanced with three drinks, but I was super careful about handling it. I arrived home, and was getting out of the car, when I was carrying the drink holder, and for whatever reason I wasn’t being careful enough. Then it happened. My large drink toppled out of the holder, made contact with the pavement, and spilled everywhere, milk tea, boba, everything. The other two survived unscathed.

Naturally, I broke down. (This may or may not be an exaggeration. I’ll leave that up to your imagination. Actually, maybe don’t. It’s a little embarassing.)

Yes, it was probably my fault, but I also blame the lid. It makes drinks prone to spilling. My friend almost spilled her drink today too and that lid came way too easily off! Where is the seal lid machine when I need it most?

All things part of life considered, this shouldn’t be the end of the world, but I think my dad felt bad. My parents went on a drive…and brought me a new drink. *Insert crying emoji* Love you lots <3 <3 <3.

For those who came for a drink review and not a sob story, we’re finally here. Today I finally got to try the Rising Phoenix Milk Tea, which is what Orobae has been recently known for as one of its signature drinks. I’ve heard so many good things about it, and I figure, since the first time I got Orobae, you can’t go wrong with the tea here. The name obviously isn’t really descriptive, but I think it’s some kind of Oolong tea. I even convinced one of my friends to try it, and she loved it! For me…I loved it too! The drink is very good and lives up to my expectations. Definitely an Oolong milk tea, but with some deeper (dare I say nuttier?) flavors and also some hints of floral tea-ness. The boba is nice and chewy but not too sweet. I’m pretty happy with the amount of boba though.
