Sea Cream Jasmine Tea – 7 Leaves Cafe

Wow, today is a bad luck boba day. 🙁

It would seem I might be talking about Orobae too much around the house (I don’t think so, but apparently so) because my mom was talking about getting Orobae today, and I was much surprised, considering she’s had not-so-great experiences, but I keep wanting to go back since I hear such good things and I’ve only had it once! In any case, getting boba is always a happy thing. 🙂

My dad even had a game plan for his daily drive today, ha! So I hear the line is long, which just means Orobae is popular right? Bad good thing, but at least the line is social distancing. When he finally is placing his order…they tell him they ran out of boba! What the heck? How dare! Now what? (Ok, this might be a slight exaggeration on my part, but seriously? That’s just sad and lame for a tea / boba place.) They told him to come back in an hour, but the whole point our timing was so it wouldn’t be too close to dinner…

As you may have guessed from the title of this post, surprise, surprise, we got 7 Leaves for the ease of ordering on the app. I wanted a milk tea from Orobae yes (I guess to be continued at some point?), but I didn’t want something that heavy but still wanted tea, so I ordered the Sea Cream Jasmine again! (If we’re counting bad luck signs, I tried ordering the Assam Milk Tea for my mom, but it wasn’t available at the location I was ordering from!)

The tea is really good, and you can taste the actual tea by itself in this drink which is so refreshing! The sea cream also adds a nice salty flavor to the drink, and after mixing it in, gives the drink a good texture. If you lick the cream by itself, it is pretty salty, so be sure to drink it with the tea! The last time I got it in a regular size, but since I got the large today, there was a lot more tea than cream with the regular amount of cream, so maybe depending on my mood in the future I may want more cream in a large drink. That, and some of the cream tends to stick to the lid, so there is some loss there…but I did find that it was a good amount of cream. Overall, I’m still more of a milk tea person than a cream and tea person, but it was this drink that opened my mind to foam toppings. I’m still a little averse to cream cheese foam because I’m not much of a cream cheese person, but hey, next time I don’t have something I’m craving art a place that offers it, maybe I’ll order it!

The drink is great, as always and expected from 7 Leaves. But the boba is a little tough today, like the last time. Have I done something to anger the boba gods today?

Oh, if we’re looking for positives today so we don’t end on a sad note, those layers are so pretty!
