Oolong Milk Tea – Omomo Tea Shoppe

After trying Oolong from 7 Leaves, I swear I’m not on an Oolong kick. Sometimes when I look at the Omomo menu I feel like I want everything yet nothing at the same time…weird feeling for a boba place. There’s a whole bunch of drinks I want to try, from the milk teas to the fruit teas.

I wanted a milk tea drink today, and I’ve been wanting to try their black milk tea(s) for a while (they have 2!). I really wished they offer milk teas for their green teas, because they have a Jasmine and a Gyokuro on their own, and blended with matcha in the Milk Tea section of the menu. I mean, I like matcha, but I’d also like green milk tea on its own. Obviously Omomo has the resources (green tea, milk) so why not combine them…? Do they just not go well together at Omomo or something and just need to stick some matcha in there to sell the green milk tea? When I tried the Uji Green Milk Tea the matcha overpowered the Jasmine flavor and didn’t go too well. I know matcha is a green tea and all but I don’t need it in everything.

Alright, back to the Oolong. I ended up deciding the black tea can wait, so I went for the Oolong. The drink is surprisingly good! The Oolong here is light and refreshing, and you get a hint of Oolong flavor. Is it nutty? Eh, I guess a little. Less nutty and more Oolong-y I suppose. I guess I really like Oolong now. I would definitely get this again. Boba is great today. Very chewy and a good amount of sweetness.

And yes, the picture has ice. No, I did not want ice. Apparently my dad told them no ice and they confirmed no ice but I still ended up with ice. -_-
