Mango Mojito – Redstraw Tea Bar

Today I met up with some friends, because socializing in times of safely social distancing is important and digital meetups can’t really replace real life socializing you know? We’re studying Russian over the summer, and practicing the language in real life also helps a lot more than studying digitally. There’s just something about it.

Today we went to Redstraw, which has been a staple recently because it’s closer to one of my friend’s house since she bikes. I’ve also been trying to order new drinks recently to get out of my same-drink comfort zone. Redstraw has some really tempting non-milk /fruit tea drinks, so I had a little hard time deciding today. I ended up going with the Mango Mojito, which is what is advertised as a “New” drink, though I’m not sure how new it actually its. Regardless, it sounded really tempting, because mango flavor usually goes with tea really well. I’ve also tried to stay away from the Mojito drinks on the menu, because I thought that Mojito is a traditionally an alcoholic drink (and my introvert self didn’t really want to to clarify with the cashiers either). The description on the Mango Mojito sign just said lime and mint though, so I figured that was it, and it sounded really good too.

And the drink was so good! I opted for half sugar, which apparently brings it down to 10% because the regular is 25%. I was just a bit skeptical, but I went with it because it’s healthier right? I’m ended up really satisfied with the drink, and it was just the right amount of sweetness too. There was just a slight tang to the drink which balanced out the sweetness and I liked that a lot. None of the flavors were too overpowering, and I would totally get it again (though after I try a few more on the menu…). Boba is nicely chewy, and not that sweet.
