Ok, so I don’t know if there’s some actual science to shaking specifically 17 times, but hey, Sunright Tea Studio says to do it and I’ve been shaking a lot, so I hope it actually does something. I actually haven’t been having that much Sunright, but I’m a big fan of their drinks for the times I’ve had them. It also used to be my mom’s go-to place, but recently she’s been changing her mind on her favorite boba shop a lot. Their menu is huge, the drinks are quality, so I’m excited to try more drinks and write about them! Another thing about Sunright is the cup. It’s made of a sturdier plastic than other places, and it feels so nice that I never want to throw it away. I’m also not much of a milk substitute person because I don’t have any issues with dairy, but I also noticed that Sunright has the largest milk substitute variety of any boba shop I’ve been to.
I think I feel I have some kind of connection with Sunright because I went there when they were still in their soft opening phase, and I still feel proud that I discovered a newly opened local boba shop. It was sometime during winter break that my sister went to a party and my dad and I went out to Korean barbecue, and afterwards I wanted boba (as usual), and I found Sunright on Yelp. What a discovery! Besides the drinks, which were as good as they are now, what also caught my eye was an early review on Yelp comparing Sunright to an ABG. It was so hilarious that the review itself partially convinced me it was worth it. I don’t think there were any actual special promotions during the soft opening, but when I went the lady at the register was really nice about answering any questions.
Chain? Yes. I’ve only been to the Irvine one on Jeffrey. I totally appreciate having two locations in Irvine (one recently opened in Diamond Jamboree!), but I don’t really get why (I’m not complaining though…).
Drinks Tried: Sunright Boba Milk Tea, Brown Sugar Boba Milk (I think used to be called the Milk +?), Matcha Milk Tea, Jasmine Milk Tea (#2), Oolong Milk Tea, Four Seasons Latte, Thai Milk Tea, Hokkaido Milk Tea, Ceylon Milk Tea, Mango Green Milk Tea, Matcha Oolong Milk Tea, White Peach Oolong Milk Tea, Wintermelon Latte, Honey Blossom Milk Tea, Mango Yakult,
Boba: They offer Brown Sugar, Honey, and Agar boba. Sunright has such perfect boba when at their peak! The boba is so nicely chewy, and has so much flavor. Both the brown sugar and honey boba are good and have different tastes!
Price: I think the price is good considering their drinks and overall quality.
Size: No size differences here. They did recently implement a smaller cup for limited time blended drinks, but most of the drinks come in the regular, larger cup. I’m not sure why they felt the need for a smaller cup. Maybe to charge more for the drink but not make it that obviously expensive?
Interior: Sunright is a pretty big boba place relative to other boba shops. Enough places to sit, and it’s spacious and brightly lit.
Wait: The times I went I barely had to wait, but I think Sunright is getting more popular so I hope the wait hasn’t gotten longer. They’ve been using an online order during quarantine, which helps saves time too.
Sell Food? No.
Reward System? Yes. Just put in your number or use the same card when you go and you’ll automatically accumulate points. I think they use Toast Tab. The reward system is pretty generous!
