Camo Thai – Omomo Tea Shoppe

Omomo opened their newest location this past weekend and they’re currently on a soft opening, so hopefully with two locations in Irvine the line will die down at the other one! In any case, my dad went out today, and thought about stopping by Omomo, and I am always down for a drink, so of course I told him yes. Obviously I didn’t got myself, but from the pictures he sent and some pictures off of Yelp, the interior looks a little different from the other Irvine shop. It seems bigger and more spacious, as well as keeping up the minimalistic millennial vibe I know from Omomo, but just slightly different. I am concerned that the parking might be an issue since this plaza gets busy at times, but that’s a problem for future Omomo seers. I’ll also try to update my Omomo post once I actually go in person!

Today I chose to go for their Camo Thai. I realized with being on a green tea phase I haven’t had that much Thai tea recently (and I love a good Thai tea!). I’ve also had Omomo’s regular Thai tea before, but I don’t think I’ve ever personally ordered the Camo Thai myself. The drink was very creamy with a nice, rich Thai tea flavor. At the beginning, the drink was a little salty, but that might be from the cream that gives it the “Camo” look. Eventually, I got used to it, and it actually helped to balance out the sweetness. The boba was very good and chewy today, but still had little flavor. I was also very sad to notice that I finished my drink so quickly today. 🙁

As a side note, I’ve recently been slightly regretting getting no ice recently because peak summer is coming around, which means it’s been getting hotter, to the point that no ice may not fly anymore. I love me a good cold drink, but I still want maximum drink, and I guess if I really want to, I can put in some ice myself at home.

Details: Camo Thai; Half sugar; No ice; with brown sugar boba; from Omomo Tea Shoppe (Irvine, Walnut Village)
