As is traditional with summer, come all the doctor appointments. Yesterday I went to the dentist, and I cursed past me for making a 9am appointment. Why, you may ask. Because the earliest any regular boba place opens is at 11am! Of course, there always lies an exception: 7 Leaves opens at 7am. As much as I’ve been loving 7 Leaves, it would have been a bit of a drive as opposed to other closer shops or shops on the way home. So I passed on boba (I know, shocking), and waited for the weekend.
Obviously, the story doesn’t end there. Today I went to the eye doctor, and to be completely honest, I wasn’t expecting to get boba because it wasn’t just me. But I was bored and was browsing Yelp…and found Oiio Cafe located just down the street. I was with my mom, so I knew we’d all be down to get a drink while we were here.
A lot of the drinks sounded and looked good, so I had a hard time choosing what I wanted. I decided to go with a basic milk tea since it was my first time there, which came down to the House Milk Tea or Oiio Milk Tea. They’re both black teas with milk, but the Oiio is made with brown sugar, whereas the House is white sugar (after asking the cashier). I ended up choosing the Oiio because a lot of times brown sugar tastes better. I’m really happy with my decision, because the flavor of the tea was really good, and the boba was an interesting experience (in a good way!). Drink and boba was sweet but not overly sweet, and I’ll definitely go back to try more.
Oh, and I had a few sips of my mom’s Thai Milk Tea and my dad’s House Milk Tea. Since this isn’t a post about those drinks (and they weren’t mine anyway), I’ll just briefly say that the Thai Tea was very caramel-ly and not Thai Tea flavor (good drink though), and the House Tea is mostly the same but mine had a deeper flavor.
