Today my family got takeout from a place we thought was closed, but according to Yelp they’re open again, so huzzah. In the same plaza lies 7 Leaves (as is Lollicup, but my thoughts on Lollicup can come at a later time), so today’s drink is from 7 Leaves (wow, big surprise). Gosh 7 Leaves is great, and more about 7 Leaves in a review will come in due time too.
Anyway, you’re probably here for my drink review, and today I ordered the Jasmine Milk Tea. For whatever reason, I’ve been in a Green tea mood lately, which probably started when I ordered Green milk tea from Oo Tea. The last time I ordered from 7 Leaves I got the Jasmine Sea Cream (review hopefully soon) because I thought that their Jasmine milk tea would taste like normal Green milk tea. By normal, I mean the usual flavor like other Green teas I’ve had, which is a good thing. I actually haven’t had that much actual Jasmine tea before either. Now, the Sea Cream was indeed good, but I was so wrong about the milk tea.
The Jasmine Milk Tea was so much better than I expected (and I definitely had expectations because 7 Leaves has good drinks). It simultaneously tastes like regular Green tea but also doesn’t at the same time, which is to be expected, since this drink has Jasmine in it. Green tea usually tastes lighter, and looks it too. I’m no tea expert, but today’s drink was deeper than normal Green tea and a little darker in color. It also tasted floral-y, but not overbearing or flowery either. I definitely need to try more Jasmine drinks if that was the Jasmine flavor at work. I was quite sad that the drink went down so quickly that I tried at times to savor the flavor more. Oh, and the boba took on the flavor of the drink, which was quite nice, but it might have been because I waited a bit to start drinking my drink.
Today I discovered a new liking for Jasmine (yes I may have a friend named Jasmine, and I love her as much as ever, but today’s tea experience was very good). Also 7 Leaves never disappoints.
